When writing a review, I always include my honest opinion, whether it is positive or negative. I rate books out of five stars, though I personally don’t attach too much importance to ratings as I prefer to explain my thoughts in the review.
The rating system I use is fairly simple:
- 5 stars – I loved the book.
- 4 stars – I really enjoyed the book.
- 3 stars – I liked the book or felt neutral about it.
- 2 stars – I disliked the book.
- 1 star – I strongly disliked the book.
I review books as soon as I can after receiving them, on average it takes about a month for me to read and review it on this blog. I mainly read books within the genres of nonfiction and historical fiction, so if you want to me to review your book, please consider if it falls into either one of those genres.
If you are contacting me to review a book, please include the following about it:
- The title of the book
- The author
- The genre
- The date of publication
- The publisher
- The synopsis
